Laura Rock Gaughan’s first book is a short fiction collection called Motherish (Turnstone Press, 2018). Her fiction and essays have been published in literary journals, anthologies, and newspapers in Canada, Ireland, and the United States. Since 2019 she has served as executive director of the Literary Press Group, an association of independent Canadian literary publishers. Prior to that she worked as a consultant for non-profit organizations and taught college communications and creative writing classes. Born in California and raised in a small town in western New York, she lives in Lakefield, Ontario with her family.
